A reminder that the clean-up is this weekend, April 22, 2017. We are always looking for volunteers, it’s a fun way to get out in the sunshine and meet your neighbours. If you are in high school, this is an excellent opportunity to complete your volunteer hours. Please join us at the Board of Trade building on South St., right across from the Village Market, at 9:00 AM. Vests, route maps, and instructions will be distributed there.
This year we will be providing a bin for scrap metal and electronics, thanks to Dundee Recycling and Toman Services as well as the Board of Trade. The bin is located beside Toman Services, 1454 Bridge St., and you can drop off electronic waste and scrap metal from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The bin will be there for about a week, if you can’t make it this Saturday.
The following is a list of the items that can be put in the bin:
- Ferrous and non-ferrous metal
- Computer monitors
- Computer circuit boards
- Printers and Fax machines
- Phones, Cell phones, Pagers and Answering Machines
- AV Players and Recorders
- Speakers and Turntables
- Video Game consoles
- CPUs and Towers, Laptops
The New Dundee Board of Trade had another successful annual Pancake Breakfast with over 300 people filled up with all you can eat pancakes, sausages, eggs, and maple syrup from the 2016-2017 Elmira Maple Syrup Festival’s producer of the year (Maple Tap Farm).
CTV News Kitchener sent their reporter Tyler Calver out who produced a video report you can view here.
Thanks to all who attended, we’ll see you again for breakfast next year!
Hi there, welcome back! We are very pleased to announce that our roadside clean-up will be on April 22, 2017 this spring, and that once again, we will be collecting scrap metal and electronics. If you would like to volunteer to help, we will convene at the Board of Trade office located on South Street at 9:00 am, and if you have any scrap metal or e-waste, it can be left in the bin beside Toman Plumbing, located on Bridge St.
If you have never participated in this event, please come on out and meet the neighbours! If you have participated before, you’ll know it’s good exercise, and a lot of fun.
We have a rain date as well, that would be the following Saturday, April 29, at the same time.
Hope to see you there!
You may have noticed the Canadian flags through the village that have now been replaced by the Christmas lights. We plan to have the flags up each year from Victoria day until just past the 1st of July, and then again for the month of November for our Remembrance day services.
You have may have been told by our volunteers that they were actually installing cameras. Rest assured this is not the case, but I credit them for their witticism despite the freezing temperatures!
The flag project is an initiative of the Board of Trade and we’d love to hear your feedback. If anyone has any pictures of the flags, please share!
This page is maintained by the Board of Trade, and we’re very excited about our new look. Feel free to browse around the site, and visit the various pages. We have included an interesting history of New Dundee, complete with some archive video footage, that shows a glimpse into our past. We’d like this page to be as interactive as possible, so please feel free to contact us, and tell us about yourself. We accept photo and video submissions, as well as text. The blog will be updated on a monthly basis, we’d love to hear your news.
