Recreational Activities
Numerous recreational activities await visitors to New Dundee.
Parks
New Dundee boasts two beautiful parks. The New Dundee Community Park, the largest, located at the corner of Bridge and Main Streets provides a variety of recreational facilities for both young and old. There are two tennis courts, a large children’s playground, a beach ball volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a covered picnic shelter and a band shelter. Large open green spaces allow for soccer and softball. For years residents have taken full advantage of these facilities for family reunions, picnics and a community church service held each year on the 2nd Sunday in August.
Washroom facilities are available.
The smaller Optimist Park located at the dam on Main Street offers a quaint picnic area and easy accessibility to Alder Lake for canoeing and fishing.
Walking Tour
A satisfying and relaxing way to appreciate the history of New Dundee is to take the half hour self-guided walking tour. The tour was a project of the Grade 5 students who attend New Dundee Public School. Copies of the self-guided tour can be obtained at The New Dundee Emporium and other businesses in town or downloaded from this site.
Sports
New Dundee is home to two world class baseball diamonds. Located at the community center softball of all types is enjoyed by both minor ball players and adults. Tournaments are welcomed and can be booked by contacting the Wilmot Township administration offices.
Enjoy fishing? Fishing for sunfish and bass is available at Alder Lake by the dam at Optimist Park or take the short drive out of town to Lyndon Public Fishing and try your luck at catching trout.
For golf enthusiasts the New Dundee Country Club provides a scenic 18 hole golf course.
